Pagi Ini Planet Venus Melintas di Hadapan Matahari

Fenomena transit venus atau melintasnya venus di depan matahari terjadi pada Rabu (6/6/2012) pagi ini. Untuk diketahui transit venus ini sangat langka karena transit berikutnya akan terjadi pada tahun 2117.

"Ya, peristiwanya terjadi pada Rabu, 6 Juni. Venus melintas di hadapan piringan matahari atau biasa disebut sebagai transit Venus," kata Profesor Riset Astronomi Astrofisika Lapan, Thomas Jamaluddin, Minggu (3/6/2012) kemarin.

Thomas mengatakan, peristiwa ini terjadi pada pukul 05.00 WIB hingga pukul 11.49 WIB dan dapat disaksikan di seluruh Indonesia. Namun, seluruh tahapan proses transit Venus akan dapat dilihat dengan sempurna di Indonesia Bagian Timur. Hal ini disebabkan karena adanya perbedaan waktu antara Indonesia barat dan Indonesia Timur.

"Kalau di Indonesia Timur pada pukul 05.00 WIB matahari sudah terbit," katanya.

Thomas mengatakan, saat transit matahari akan seperti titik hitam yang melintas di depan matahari. Untuk melihat transit Venus ini warga dapat menggunakan kaca mata hitam.

"Namun yang paling aman memang menggunakan kaca mata khusus karena dengan menggunakan kaca mata hitam sinar mentari masih terlihat menyilaukan," katanya.

Mengutip dari Telegraph, transit venus selanjutnya akan terjadi pada tahun 2117. Fenomena transit venus ini selama ini dinanti-nantikan oleh sejumlah ilmuwan antariksa di berbagai penjuru dunia.
